You will plan engaging lessons that meet individual learning needs while supporting pupils both academically and emotionally. Working alongside experienced support staff, therapists, families and external professionals, you will help remove barriers to learning and celebrate every achievement, no matter how small.

This role would suit a Teacher with specialist experience in SEMH/SEN environments or, the school will consider mainstream teachers looking to move into specialist education in Portsmouth.

We are looking for someone who has:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* A passion for supporting students with SEMH and additional needs
* Excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies
* The ability to build positive, trusting relationships
* Patience, resilience and a calm approach
* High expectations alongside a nurturing teaching style
* Strong communication and teamwork skills

Previous experience working within specialist education, alternative provision, SEND or SEMH settings would be highly advantageous.

This school offers an incredibly supportive environment where staff wellbeing and professional development are genuinely valued. You can benefit from ongoing CPD, career progression opportunities and the chance to become part of a team committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people across Portsmouth.
