School Science Technician / Congleton / September Start / Fixed-Term Contract
Are you an experienced Science Technician looking for a rewarding full-time opportunity in a secondary school setting?
Academics is recruiting on behalf of a supportive secondary school in Congleton that is seeking a knowledgeable and organised Science Technician to join their science department. The school is looking to appoint someone from September on a full-time, fixed-term basis.
The role will initially run until December, with the potential for extension beyond this date.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
School Science Technician – Role Information
* Prepare, set up, and clear away equipment and materials for practical science lessons
* Support teaching staff with the delivery of practical experiments across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
* Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure resources are readily available
* Safely store and handle chemicals and scientific equipment
* Assist with risk assessments and departmental safety procedures
* Provide technical support to teaching staff and students where appropriate
School Science Technician – Applicant Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Science Technician within a school or educational setting
* Strong scientific knowledge and understanding of laboratory procedures
* Experience preparing practical resources and equipment for science lessons
* Good awareness of health and safety requirements within a laboratory environment
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* A relevant science qualification or degree (desirable)
