The Role of a Teacher of Children with Complex Needs
Being a Teacher of Children with Complex Needs is a rewarding and hands-on role within specialist settings across Halifax, teaching and supporting pupils with complex needs to ensure their physical, mental and academic needs are met. Every day will be different, as you work closely with students to support their learning, communication, and overall development.
As a Teacher of Children with Complex Needs you will deliver lessons that are designed to help pupils to engage in their learning while promoting independence, comfort, and wellbeing. The role will include supporting with personal care, mobility, and communication needs, using a calm and consistent approach to ensure each pupil feels safe and supported.
As a Teacher of Children with Complex Needs, we require…
* Hold QTS
* ECT’s may apply but must have experience withing SEN settings and Complex needs
* Experienced working with children or young people with complex needs, disabilities, or SEND
* Confident supporting with personal care, manual handling, and mobility needs
* Patient, nurturing, and able to build strong, trusting relationships
* Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable in a hands-on role
* Live in Halifax or able to get to Halifax
