Are you an experienced and highly organised Welfare Officer looking for a rewarding role in education? A well-regarded secondary school in North London is seeking a dedicated Welfare Officer to join its pastoral support team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong student welfare experience, excellent IT skills, and a calm, proactive approach to supporting students in a busy school environment.

Role Overview

You will play a key role in supporting student wellbeing, pastoral care, and day-to-day welfare provision across the school. You will work closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams, families, and external agencies to ensure students receive the support they need to thrive.

This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong administrative capability, and confidence using school systems to maintain accurate welfare records.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the school’s day-to-day student welfare and pastoral provision
• Provide first response support for student medical and welfare needs
• Maintain accurate and confidential welfare records
• Liaise with staff, parents, and external agencies where appropriate
• Monitor student wellbeing concerns and support interventions
• Ensure welfare systems and documentation remain fully up to date
• Provide first aid support when required

Person Specification

* Previous experience in a Welfare Officer, Pastoral, or Student Support role
• Strong understanding of student welfare procedures within schools
• Excellent IT knowledge and confidence using school management systems
• Valid First Aid certificate essential
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Professional, calm, and approachable manner
• Commitment to supporting student wellbeing
