Are you driven to support young people with social, emotional and mental health needs? This is a highly rewarding opportunity to join a specialist SEMH school as a Mental Health Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting students who require additional emotional and behavioural support to succeed in education.

As a Mental Health Assistant, you will work closely with students who may present with anxiety, trauma-related needs, behavioural challenges, and barriers to learning. The school provides a structured and nurturing environment, where every student is supported to develop resilience, confidence, and positive coping strategies.

Working as a Mental Health Assistant is varied, fast-paced, and incredibly meaningful. You may be helping a student regulate their emotions, supporting them through a challenging moment, or encouraging engagement in learning.

This Mental Health Assistant role is an excellent pathway into careers such as teaching, educational psychology, clinical psychology, counselling, youth work, or social care. The hands-on experience gained as a Mental Health Assistant will give you a strong foundation in understanding complex behaviours and mental health needs in an educational setting. Support students with SEMH needs in and out of the classroom
