Science Graduate Teaching Assistant – Tower Hamlets Secondary School

Location: Tower Hamlets, East London

Start Date: ASAP / September Start Available

Contract: Full-Time (Monday – Friday, Term Time Only)

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a motivated Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to support their dynamic Science department. This role offers an excellent platform for graduates who are passionate about education and keen to develop their skills in a school setting before progressing into teacher training.

About the Role:

Working closely with teachers to support lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

Providing targeted academic support through small group work and 1:1 sessions

Helping to engage students and bring Science to life in the classroom

Assisting with lesson resources, practical activities, and classroom organisation

Supporting students of all abilities, including those who may need additional guidance

Promoting a positive and focused learning environment

Who We’re Looking For:

A Science-related degree (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or similar)

An interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education

Confident communication skills and a willingness to get involved

A flexible, enthusiastic, and committed approach

Experience working with young people is beneficial but not required
