Science Graduate Teaching Assistant – Enfield Secondary School

Location: Enfield, North London

Start Date: ASAP / September Start Available

Contract: Full-Time (Monday – Friday, Term Time Only)

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you a recent Science graduate with aspirations of becoming a teacher?

Are you looking to gain valuable, hands-on classroom experience before embarking on teacher training?

I am currently working with a supportive and high-achieving secondary school in Enfield seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring teacher to build classroom experience, develop key teaching skills, and make a real impact on students’ learning.

The Role:

Supporting the Science department across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 exposure may be available)

Delivering small group interventions and 1:1 support to students

Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management

Supporting lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

Helping to raise attainment and confidence in Science subjects

Providing support for students with varying abilities, including those requiring additional support

The Ideal Candidate:

A degree in a Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related) (2:2 or above)

A genuine passion for education and a desire to train as a teacher in the future

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A proactive and positive attitude

Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
