This Behaviour Support Specialist role in Swindon offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a secondary school setting.

We are working with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Swindon seeking a committed Behaviour Support Specialist to join their team. The school is dedicated to improving students’ emotional wellbeing, confidence, and academic progress, and is looking for someone who can provide consistent, proactive behavioural support.

This role is ideal for individuals considering careers in education, behaviour mentoring, youth work, SEN support, social work, or mental health services, and is also well-suited to those with previous school or alternative provision experience.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Behaviour Support Specialist:

• Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support to students with behavioural and complex needs
• Implementing behaviour management strategies to promote positive learning outcomes
• Supporting students in developing emotional regulation and social skills
• Building strong, professional relationships to help pupils feel safe and supported
• Working closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to implement behaviour support plans
• Maintaining high expectations around conduct, engagement, and safeguarding

The Ideal Behaviour Support Specialist:

• Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
• A genuine interest in behaviour support and student wellbeing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Calm, patient, and resilient under pressure
• Confident managing challenging behaviour in a professional manner
• A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
