Supply English Teacher – Doncaster

Position: Supply English Teacher (Qualified)
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
Schools: Supportive and inclusive secondary schools across Doncaster
Pay: £140 – £195 per day (dependent upon experience, training, qualifications and client rate available, paid via PAYE – no umbrella company fees)
Start Date: ASAP or from a start date that suits you
About the Role
As a Supply English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and purposeful lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting pupils in developing confidence in reading, writing, speaking and listening. You may cover both short-term and longer-term assignments, working within well-resourced English departments that value creativity, consistency, and pupil engagement.
Supply roles offer the chance to experience different school environments, maintain teaching continuity for students, and focus on classroom practice without the full pressures of a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Follow and adapt pre-planned schemes of work where required
• Support pupils preparing for internal assessments and GCSEs
• Encourage a love of literature, language and creative expression
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
• Assess pupil progress and provide feedback where appropriate
• Uphold safeguarding and promote pupil wellbeing at all times
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
* Degree in English or a related subject
* Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
* Flexible, reliable and confident teaching approach
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
