Academics is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work on a temporary basis within a welcoming mainstream primary school in the Barry area. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to a Year 2 child with ASD and ADHD, helping them access learning and thrive within the classroom environment.
The Role
* Full-time, Monday to Friday
* 1:1 support for a child with ALN in a mainstream Year 2 class
* Supporting emotional regulation, engagement, and access to the full curriculum
* Working closely with the class teacher and ALNCo to deliver tailored support
* Starting as soon as possible
Pay Rate
£13.68 – £15.00 per hour, including holiday pay,
with the higher rate dependent upon experience, training, qualifications, and the client rate available.
Minimum Requirements
* Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant OR experience supporting children with ALN/SEN
* Understanding of ASD/ADHD is highly beneficial
* Strong communication skills and a calm, encouraging nature
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider school team
