A welcoming and community-focused mainstream primary school in Banbury, Oxfordshire is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide individual support for a pupil with additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a caring and patient individual who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
The school is well regarded for its inclusive ethos and supportive staff team. They are looking for a calm, adaptable, and proactive practitioner who can build a strong, positive relationship with the pupil while working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning or behavioural needs
* Supporting the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development
* Implementing support strategies set by the class teacher and SENCO
* Encouraging engagement in learning and promoting positive behaviour
* Helping to maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
* Working collaboratively with teaching staff and other support professionals
* Contributing to the wider life of the school where appropriate
Previous experience working as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant or supporting children with SEND is highly desirable, though not essential. A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach is essential.
