SEN Teaching Assistant – Hemel Hempstead (Autism & Complex Needs Focus)

Are you passionate about supporting children with autism and complex needs? We are looking for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive team in Hemel Hempstead. About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support to pupils with autism and a variety of complex needs. You will be supporting students both 1:1 and in small groups, helping them to engage with learning, build independence, and develop key life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide individualised support to students with autism and complex learning needs.
* Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
* Implement personalised learning plans and behaviour management strategies.
* Offer emotional and pastoral support, promoting well-being and positive relationships.
* Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.

Requirements:

* Previous experience supporting children with autism and complex needs (essential).
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with learners.
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
* Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
