About the Role:
A caring and supportive primary school in Tilehurst is seeking a passionate and reliable Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant in Tilehurst, you will work closely with individual pupils and small groups, supporting their emotional wellbeing and promoting positive behaviour strategies within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural or emotional needs.
* Work alongside teachers and the SENCO to deliver effective support plans.
* Use behaviour management techniques to help students engage in learning.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with children to foster confidence and resilience.
* Support teaching and learning across the classroom when required.
* Follow all safeguarding and inclusion procedures within the Tilehurst primary school.
Person Specification:
* Previous experience in a school or childcare setting is desirable, ideally as a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant.
* Understanding of behaviour management strategies and social-emotional development.
* Calm, patient, and positive approach when managing challenging situations.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
* Reliable, adaptable, and committed to helping children achieve their best.
* Passionate about supporting pupils in a Tilehurst primary school setting.
