Secondary Teacher
Successful applicants for secondary school teaching roles are expected to teach students from the age of eleven to sixteen or eleven to eighteen.
These schools enable education for students that range from eleven to sixteen when they sit their GCSE exams. Ages eleven to fourteen are known as Key Stage 3 and ages fourteen to sixteen are known as Key Stage 4. A vast amount of senior schools also have sixth forms and teach ages sixteen to eighteen additionally. Ages sixteen to eighteen are known as Key Stage 5. Schools with sixth forms will offer qualifications and courses which often entail A and AS levels as well as NVQ and BTEC qualifications.
Senior school teacher roles could include - Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and/or Key Stage 5.
