An exciting position as a Learning Support Assistant from September Are you a UK graduate with experience in youth work or mentoring, keen to enhance your classroom experience? Are you keen to develop your experience of SEN knowledge, working specifically with pupils with behaviour and learning difficulties? ** Lambeth based secondary school ** LSA (Learning Support Assistant) September 2010 start ** Role models required challenging Male pupils ** Long Term post Paid weekly ** 5 days per week - £65 per day This Lambeth based secondary school is my largest client school and are in need of a committed and focused LSA who are looking to take on a long term placement from September 2010 for the full academic year or beyond. Graduates keen to become teachers/ educational psychologists or a similar post keen to gain substantial and relevant experience would suit such a school and supportive learning support unit. The school is looking for confident individuals ideally with some youth work or mentoring experience in order to work as an LSA for the full academics year and potentially beyond. You will be required to work with male pupils cross curricular through mainly KS3 working with pupils in class and in withdrawal groups who have a range of behaviour and learning difficulties. The LSU (Learning support unit) are in need of a confident learning support assistant who will be working in the respite and re-engagement unit with some of the schools most challenging pupils. Well educated and well rounded applicants are required. Somebody to act as a role model; to motivate and enthuse is required! You will be working on both a group and 1:1 basis so communication skills must be strong. The SENCO is seeking candidates that are enthusiastic, confident and logical individuals in order to make good progress with these secondary students. A sensible and confident person would suit this role, but this will be a challenging post and so requires somebody with a calm and adaptable temperament. Previous experience is not necessary but an advantage for your own progress. Experience as a paid or volunteer worker in any care, education environment will prove advantageous in being short listed. This is an ideal opportunity for you to gain the much needed relevant experience within a mainstream school as well as an SEN environment ahead of your PGCE/GTP application. Because the post is to start in early September you MUST have an enhanced CRB in the last 12 months. Academics is acting as an Employment Business |
