Agency Workers Regulations - Applicant Information

The Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) came into force on 1st October 2011.

The purpose of these regulations is to ensure that temporary workers are provided the same entitlements as that of an equivalent permanent member of staff.

These entitlements are split into two categories;

Day 1 entitlements - These include access to amenities within the school such as the canteen, staff common room, parking (if available), amongst other things.

12 Week Entitlements - These become effective after a 12 week qualifying period with the same employer in the same role type, such as parity of pay.

The effect of AWR on your placement with Academics is dependent on a number of factors, and will be explained to you by your consultant. However, you can find detailed information regarding Agency Workers Regulations in the following document;
